Jaapak (“the App”) is a spiritual counter application developed by Satish Sahu (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using Jaapak, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information Collection & Use
Jaapak is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. Specifically:
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.
- We do not use analytics services or tracking tools.
- We do not create user accounts or require registration.
- We do not access your contacts, location, or browsing history.
- All spiritual practice data (counts, sessions, preferences) remains entirely on your device.
3. Local Data Storage
All data generated by the App — including japa counts, session history, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using standard Android storage mechanisms. This data is not transmitted to any server or third party.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted unless you have created a backup. When cloud backup features become available in a future update, your backup data will be stored in your own personal cloud storage account and governed by that provider’s privacy policy.
4. Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions. Each is used only for its stated purpose:
4.1 Camera
Used only if you choose to take a profile photo within the App. The camera is accessed only at the moment you explicitly initiate a photo capture. No images are transmitted externally.
4.2 Storage / Media Access
Used only if you choose to select a profile photo from your device gallery. The App accesses only the specific image you select. No other files are read or modified.
4.3 Notifications
Used only if you enable reminders or notifications within the App settings. All notifications are generated locally on your device; no push notification service is used.
4.4 Internet Access
Required for core app functionality and for future optional cloud backup features. No personal data is transmitted by the App itself.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Play Services – for core app functionality (Privacy Policy)
Additional third-party services (such as cloud backup or advertising) may be introduced in future updates. This Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before any such services are activated.
6. Data Security
Since all App data is stored locally on your device, its security is maintained by your device’s built-in security features (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a secure lock screen.
While no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, we have designed the App to minimise data exposure by avoiding external data transmission entirely.
7. Children’s Privacy
Jaapak is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
